Title: window winder mechanism

my golf (mk2) has the old style fly windows in the front doors (3 door model), will the window mechanism from a 3 door golf (mk2) without the fly window work in my doors ?

iirc the mechanism for the pre -90 spec door (with the quarterlight) is shorter that the 90-spec ones.

I think it also mounts up in a different place, so no.
