Made a nice difference in noise for mine, along with more responsive throttle. I've got a pipercross panel.

would it make much difference to an 8 valve?

Well my old 8v engine ran 138hp and it had that, rally spec camshaft and a s/s cat back.

K&N is cotton, pipercross is foam. I've had my pipercross for 2 years and I've had no perishing or any problems with it. They are recommended by Rtech
