Title: Fuel Dump!!! mk3 golf 1.4
Post by: GrandMstRamRod on 11 October 2010, 12:22
just driving then, and some random second car stalls, bit strange but ok, then starting it back up after letting the plug light go off, took 5 seconds to start with foot fully down on the throttle, next min fuel gauge dips, with half a tank left to a quater is that strange or is there normally a problem with dodgy gauges??

any ideas!

Dodgy fuel senders can cause the fuel gauge to mis-read. Not sure how this would relate to the stalling, that could be a blocked fuel filter or faulty pump.

I think you'd probably notice if you'd dumped 15 litres of fuel over the road

My fuel gauge drops from 1/2 to 1/4 way quicker than any other part of the tank. You won't be 'loosing' fuel, it is just due to the shape of the fuel tank

And the poor design of the sender.
