Title: 8v trouble
Post by: reg on 10 October 2010, 17:43
ive had my golf for about 6 month now. when i first got it when i set off on a morning it would cut out when i was around 200 meters down the road when i got to a junction.

it only happens when im slowing down and the clutch is in, everytime it would bump start then run fine and then be ok for the rest of the day.

i cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and the golf ran smooth and with no problems (apart from the flat spot at 2k rpm) for around 6 month. now its started doing it more frequently but again only when slowing down and pressing in the clutch.

i recently fitted coilovers and its dropped pretty low, i dont know if this is the cause as its mostly doing it on wet days so im not sure if the spray on the road is affecting anything??

ive read posts about cleaning the maf but then heard it could cause problems later on???

any advise on what this could be?

if its cutting out when it rains then its seems like theres an electric prob (coilpack) do a search on here and see what you find
