Title: Golf won't start :(

Ryt guys I have a mrk2 golf gti 1.8 16v that I have had to put a new head gasket on and set the timing ryt but now won't start and i have ran out of ideas there is a 3rd pullie that on the 8v should have a mark on it but mine being a 16v doesn't :s and now iv turned the dizzy from end to end and not even a hint that it is trying to start Can any one help!

Is all the piping connected up? My favourite trick is forgetting to connect the overrun cutoff valve pipe that runs to the intake piping.

Could be many things...

Yeah every thing put back in and on. The only thing that I'm not 100% on is there is 4 wires that go on to the block nxt to the dizzy one on the back of the block and one under thr dizzy and two nxt to the fule lines and not sure if iv put them on the right plugs iv got it trying to start a we bit now but not running.

blue for fifth injector
Grey for WUR
under the dizzy should be a Brown sh!t coloured one :grin:

Your HT firing order is right yeah?

Do you have a spark ?
Is fuel reaching the injectors ?

Yeah getting a spark and fule. Iv reset all the timing and it's trying to start Now but just not going to run.   :huh:

Clean the plugs out and try. While you are there, just do a compression check.

Rut still nothing one of my friends said that it might be the air flow meater does any one know how to cheak it?
