Title: Removal of front suspension
Post by: coopers03 on 09 October 2010, 16:54
Hi all,

I have tried to remove the top nut of the strut on my golf gti but unable to do this have tried with just a socket and tried with an allen key and spanner but still no luck. I am replacing the whole shocks aswell is there an easy way that i can get these off?

Thanks

Steve

spark plug socket with a hex shaped head (so you can hold against) and an allen key through the middle

Don't use an airgun, possible damage to the shock absorber seal can result.

Battery powered is ok, but i wouldn't use air tools.
