looks good if it goes cheap..... it all depends on what you want from it... if you want to make it into a concours GTI Campaign look a like then quite hard and very expensive, if you want to make your own style mk1 out of it then its still pretty easy if you have a bit of patience. then again it seems like some hard to find parts are there though like decent wings if they're not pattern. ebay is your friend for this car and it looks like a great shell!... should be a piece of p155
Wouldnt bother with a VR though, i used to dream about it but now i'm older and wiser i know that its way too heavy for a MK1 unless all you want to do is go fast in a straight line which a mk1 isn't really about IMO.

agreed mk1's deserve mk1 engines in the same way aircooled dubs desrve theirs..
as for the shell it looks pretty decent but has no v5 and has more than likely been registerd as scrap. it will sell for more than its currently at aswell.

Vr6 is way too heavy for a mk1, 1.8t or ABF is the better choice.

Fair point, not keen on the 16v but it works well in a mk1 to be honest.

+1 i think id be tempted to go down the 16v route if my RLR lump died. :lipsrsealed: its the same as a mk1 engine with more valves in my book.

what about a g60 lump in a mk1 is that a good combination?
