Title: AutoSmart
Post by: GolfDan on 05 October 2010, 17:37
Just a quick heads up in here folks, don't want to tread on Waxamomo or Monza's toes.

I have now paid up to allow some advertising on the forum, on Friday when I return from working away  there will be a thread started in the group buys sections where I will be able to supply anything from the AutoSmart range.

For example AutoSmart Wax at £24 plus £3.50 recorded delivery.

If there are any products that you know you may want before I start the thread on Friday feel free to pm me.

Unless there is great demand I will be selling mainly 5l containers, primarily to avoid misuse as decanted purchases from eBay are usually poorly packaged and have only handwritten labels without the correct dilution rate info etc.

Cheers

Dan

Some of my faves

G101 - great APC
Tardis - heavy duty tar remover
Brisk - for shampooing carpets
Tango - I use for door shuts and on wheels diluted 50/50 but has many other uses

They also have pretty good acid wheel cleaners (a bit of a swear word and only used as a last resort), fallout removers, and a good product to remove concreate (hopefully no one has to use this stuff).

I'm not a huge fan of their dressings, perhaps it's just me as other folk love them.  I also don't touch their polishes although again some rave about them also.

Anyway, G101 and Tardis are their 'bobby dazzlers'

question is... what autosmart stuff DON'T I use?!*

some of my faves...

Tardis... it just rocks - nothing compares to it
G101... fantastic APC with soooo many uses (the 101 stands for 101 uses)
Pazzazz... just started using this for interiors... good stuff!
Finish... great for engine bays, door shuts and wheel arches
Hazsafe... non-caustic TFR, won't cause 'spotting' on rubber trim
WAX... very, very good wax that I am loving more each time I use it
Trim Ultra... great for black trim... long lasting.. don't get it on paintwork though
Glass Clear... great all purpose glass cleaner
Blast... air fresheners... available in Berry, Bubblegum or 'Cool'
Highstyle... good for tyres! Just needs a while to set to avoid flicking.
Biobrisk... good upholstery cleaner
Smart Wheels... excellent wheel cleaner. On a par with Biberry yet more cost effective iirc.

* Answer: Autosmart Ali
As a note.. Ali is their specialist acid based wheel cleaner... but don't even think about buying it. it is super powerful and very dangerous in the wrong hands... I doubt Dan would resell it tbh.. but when I was on the Autosmart course they gave us loads of warnings about it. Especially about the fact that it will be absorbed by your skin and you won't notice it.. until it has turned your bones black and melted them! yum!  Check out the COSHH Safety Data Sheet! http://www.autosmart.co.uk/images/PDF%20Folder/Autosmart%20COSHH%20sheets/ALI%20-%20SDS10015%20-%20GBR.pdf (http://www.autosmart.co.uk/images/PDF%20Folder/Autosmart%20COSHH%20sheets/ALI%20-%20SDS10015%20-%20GBR.pdf)

I would advise anyone against buying Ali or Ali Shine, in the wrong hands they will damage wheels and more importantly health.

They are used in high volume car washes because of dilution rates.

Guy is right, I wouldn't sell them for my own piece of mind to be honest.

Smart wheels is the way to go!

As far as I'm aware halfords aren't selling AutoSmart products, generally only a trade only selling method.

I have prices in mind but I don't want to post until I can get pictures and full descriptions up on Friday.

They will be competitive needless to say.

I like highstyle and trim ultra for wheels. I haven't heard of mixing with megs stuff personally.

For unbiased opinion Guy is your man.

guilty as charged, i started this im afraid:) i do a 50/50 mix as i find highstyle a tad runny and the megs endurance tyre gel too thick so i combine the two and the results are fantastic and it lasts a bit longer on the tyre aswell.

to start, g101 highly diluted is very good for alloy wheel cleaning, very good diluted for interior wipe downs and a good spot cleaner for carpets and seats, i use it when shampooing interiors if theres a really stubborn stain on the seat that wont give it up.
Tardis is an awesome tar remover
evo fine is a very good finishing polish and i wouldnt be without it...........ever!!! i will use this till the day my body says thats enough valeting/detailing. lol
Finish and is the best engine dressing ive ever used tbh, sprayed neat on a clean, dry, warm engine bay it will make it look better than it did when it came out the factory, very blingy,
pizzazz can also be diluted for use on interior plastic apart from the top of the dash, the more you dilute it the more matt the finish will be and obviously the less you dilute it the glossier it will be.
highstyle is the best tyre dressing around in my opinion, its very economical in use and lasts pretty well which is from some other manufacturers isnt the case.
biobrisk fabric cleaner with enzymes is very good and is for machine use as its low foaming and cleans very well.
mirror image polish is an excellent hand polish and if applyed with the correct technique you can get very good results with it, used by machine it gives good correction and leaves a very glossy finish.
platinum is good on newer cars that are in good condition, nice results if used by machine on a finishing pad.
glassglow is ok but not great tbh, little bit chalky and not very effective on grubby interior windows.

hope this helps mate

Im thinking of getting some G101 and diluting for a wheel cleaner and general APC - will it also be good for degreasing before a wash?

yes but it is caustic... I only use G101 as a pre-wash TFR if contamination is really bad and only on lower body panels

G101 will cause spotting on different types of rubbers

Just to add Tardis and BioBrisk are good as mentioned. Tardis is excellent at dissolving tar (from inside of a wheel or cleaning a dirty engine/parts). BioBrisk not only smells nice but is a very effective cleaner.

Tardis can be sprayed on, it emulsifys in water so it can be rinsed. I'm still finalising a price for Tardis because of H+S of postage.
