Post by: stainesy on 01 October 2010, 23:07
ok here is another post from LOL sorry

ok right my last mk3 golf had been de wipered on the rear and there was a very neat black flush cap where the hole for the wiper went.

im wanting to de wiper my new golf as i like the clean look.

in just robbed one of my plastic screw/bolt thingies from the rain tray belive it or not, luckily i found a bit of rubber with a hole in one end that fitted snug in the wiper hole and then i inserted the screw thing in the hole in the rubber, this made it expand and its totally water tight

btw my raintray is absolutely shagged and need a new one so it was ok to butcher it up lol, not so good if yours is good condition like haha

Halfords sell a mixed packet of grommets, one of those is spot on size.

i did this today! took me 5 minutes.
need a 13mm socket to remove the wiper nut.
and a 10mm to remove the motor inside (i just used an adjustable spanner)
you need a 24mm gromment to plug the gap. will put up a photo tomorrow for you
