Title: Cabrio rear speaker removal?
Post by: garethcab on 01 October 2010, 20:12
Hi all,

I want to change the rear speakers in my Cabrio, but unlike the fronts, it looks like I have to remove the panel to get them out.

Can anyone confirm and if so, it looks like the rear seat bench needs removing first.

Kind regards

when i removed my speakers i found it a lot easier to remove rear seat bench and yes you need to remove whole panel, not that hard, only a couple of screws

Many thanks.

Have you changed your speakers and if so which ones did you choose I have heard that the depth could be a problem as they touch the window.

I've installed a pair of Infinity 6520cs' in the front doors and I have some spare Infinity 5022 which I was going to make up a mdf adapter to fit in the rear.

Thanks

ive not yet put any others in, previous owner put some fugly ones in and cut em quite big, hoping to get some 6 x 9's in, problem i have is i have leather interior so its gonna look spoiled if they won't fit, yes the depth isn't that deep the ones i took out did stick to the body so gonna have a measure and see whats out there
