anyone fancy solving this?
got a 1.8t agu. doesn't cut out all the time, usally once every fortnight maybe? but it's done in 3 times in the last 5 minutes. getting very frustrating. and when the car's idling, the revs like to drop and shoot back up. and sometimes, the throttle pedal seems to do nothing, it's almost as if it's been disconnected. for example, i'm driving along in 3rd, change to 4th, but the car doesn't build up any speed. sometimes the car just stops for a split second (very similar to tapping the brake pedal)
any help will be appreciated thanks.

Had car at r tech about 2 months ago, and they cleaned it I think. Still think it's worth a clean? Think it could be anything else causing this? :/ thanks
-
could be a number of things tbh mate best bet is to get it vagcom'd
-
At a gess the ignition amp or maybe the MAF. Are you running the stander air box or a indution kit?
-
think it's time i get vagcom :undecided:
used a scanner, but no fault codes came up.
had a new maf 2 months ago. and running standard air box. cheers!

I did have a spit nose pipe runing from my N75 once that had simler things happen to what you have said KM, but not as bad. But i think a falt code would have crop up by now it that was the case but maybe work having a look?
-
would a weak n75 be my problem by any chance? i've been told to get it changed but haven't got round to doing it

Wouldnt like to say mate for shore. I could see it corsing some of thoes problems but not nessesarly all of them.

hmm, happened again today. had my foot fully pressed on the accelerator pedal and car was just rolling, no acceleration. I have to let go then press again in order to get it to work. put the clutch down.. and the revs just drop. i'll order a vagcom cable off ebay now :undecided:
-
You need the cable off ross-tech website for full edition otherwise it wont let you do hardly anything on the free edition and to get it to work with a 3rd party cable is a right biatch..
-
ah thank you so much. was just researching into it. luckily i haven't purchased the cable yet. so am i right in saying the free version is mainly for reading codes etc. full edition software is a bit pricey for me atm. it will have to wait :)
-
the free edition will only let you read codes i dont think it will let you even erase codes..

update: car doesn't even start now. it turns over, but the revs just drop to 0. think its fine if i give it i tap the accelerator pedal though? :undecided:
