My car woudnt start yesturday. It was turning, but it wouldnt fire up.
I changed the spark plugs, and gave it a new oil and filter.
I tried starting again and it wouldnt. I kept turning over, and it eventually started.
I turned it off, then tried again, and the light came up "stop - oil pressure"
The warning has not come up since that.
I tried starting again and it fired straight away, but sounded like it was missfiring, drove it about 1 mile, and it was sorted.
But every time i start it, you need to keep it turning over, with your foot on the accelerator, and it will eventually start.
What could this be??

Get vagcom on it and scan for codes could be MAF sensor..
-
Its weird, because there's not EML on the dash :undecided:
I disconnected the battery for a while, hoping this would have reset the codes.
-
could be the crank shaft sensor i had similar problem with mine and thats what causeed me the fault cost me £16 iirc from gsf its located behind the oil filter

I have the same issue with my girlfriends gti on a morning it's right pain in the arse to start I have to sit there with foot to floor to get it to start it's really lumpy smells really chokey keep it revving for around a minute then it's fine will start up rest of the day I have been told it could be the temp sensor but yet to have that changed I unplugged the mat made no diference to it so I too could do with some answers to it I have scanned with vagcom apart from the usual 17705 code there was 1 for bank 1 sensor I think
-
Yep, same problems as mine.
Ill get a new crank sensor and temp sensor tommorow. See how it is then
