hi guys can anyone help me, ive just replaced the ecu on my mk2 gti k jet and now when accelerating hard the car sterts to judder realy badly about 4000 rpm feels like a misfire but it has a new coil plugs and leads ands all the conections are clean, any ideas, cheers
-
misfire sound like timing issues are you sure all of your HT leads are in correctly?
Undo all plugs and check if they are all the same carbon coulour it might narrow it down to which plug is playing up?
Was it doing this before with the old ECU ?
-
Does a K-Jet even have an ECU? Only thing I thought it had was an ignition amplifier
-
well dunno if it was an ecu, some black box and the ignition module up on the bulk head :nerd:
-
if its the one in your sig its either a 16v or you have an engine conversion. if its a 16v, try putting the old ones back 1 at a time see if that helps
-
the problem was actually stale fule, filled it up with 97oct, this mornin and within a mile everythin was fine
-
ah, it happened again, run fine for a week then massive clunk and stopped again, nothin mechanical though, has blown the amp again, any ideas why???????, ive cleaned and greased all the earths including the gearbox one, cheers
-
it blew up the ignition amp in a week ??? WTF
you must have a damaged coil or a really shonkey pattern ignition amp there
-
na its a new coil, was a second hand amp tho, got another one comin, with a gurentee so, weel have to see
