Had a call recently from a Mate saying he desperately needed to move this car from the car park outside his house and did I want it ?? Did a deal for 275 quid for it without even seeing a picture (you have to trust a Mate). No tax or mot but in average condition he said. Also said it's a good runner and responsive. Went to fetch it today and it drives quite nice actually and is totally standard apart from a k & n air filter and the back box. He also gave me a de cat pipe with it. It has 4 electric windows which all work, mirrors and sunroof work, air con and is nice and clean inside. Not sure whether to mot it and keep it or break it yet so comments would be welcome. Not sure I would use it much as I already have a Mark 3 8v and a Mark 4 8v. Anyway here are some pics of the new car and by the way the Hyundai is not mine it's the father in law who is using my Mark 4 at the mo

If you break it mate i would be interested in the interior and the skirt trims
-
give it a damn good valet, could make a tidy profit MOT depending

Am actually going out now to give it a damn good clean actually Mate and do a fault code scan to check it over. Trouble is when I MOT it they don't seem to be selling lately and I will end up keeping it and don't really need 3 cars. I'm a sucker for keeping them in the end Mate
-
Id deffo break it mate, they aint selling at all. Once youve made paid to mot it then there wont be alot of profit left to make. Plus, I need the exhaust!
-
Why not put it in for a mot and go from there.
-
Well I have cleaned it up today (with the help of my 7 year old) and it came up nice and clean with minimal bodywork required. I have decided to stick it in for an MOT test as it drives too well and is too clean to break. It drives better than my other 8v to be honest and sounds better. Shame I have done some work to the other one and this is a 5 door. But after the MOT I can decide whether to break or just put it back on the road. Will update this thread next weekend when it has been tested. Here's a pic now though....just needs another coat on the bumper plastics to get it fully Black but I think it looks better already.

i'd be interested in this if you put it through an MOT ,im after a mk3 for a winter daily
-
Will keep this thread updated Mate but where are you located and what sort of price would you be willing to pay ?? I have to decide whether to MOT it if it fails or just break for parts. My plan is to take it for test this weekend and see where I go from there but obviously would not make sense for me to spend a couple of hundred quid to mot it and then sell it for 400/500 quid. Let me know Mate.
-
im in newport s wales, i've got around £800 to spend but that would obviously depend on mileage, conditon etc, let me know the details mate, cheers
-
Leave it with me Mate and I will get back to you when it's been for test.
-
too good to break
-
deffo too good to break
-
Don't want to break it myself as I believe it would be a crime as well but if it fails and needs 200/300 quid spending on it then it isn't worth it as they just ain't selling at the moment. The only appeal to this is that it's virtually bog standard which seem to be getting rarer these days. Anyway it's booked in for Friday afternoon so will update then and make the decision.

Nice Hyundai btw.

I have only drove this once (when I was viewing Mark 4's) and it is unbelievably slow. But them again the father in law pays less tax and gets more mpg than me so does what it says on the tin !!!
