Found this horrible little gremlin lurking in the bay!
Haven't searched yet since im off to work, If anyone could please leave the part number of the 16v Breather pipe on here,
I would be mucho aprecciado!
If not i will hit the search when i get home :smug:

If its the pipe I think it is, they are around £30-£40, apparently because of the moulding on the end.
I found a guide somewhere to making your own one (possibly in the maintenance section) that looks easy enough and is a lot cheaper than getting a new one :P
Failing that get one from the scrappies :)

Had exactly the same issue with that breather pipe on my old 16v, don't have the part number but sure it cost between £20-30.
TBH though it didn't seem to cause any issue, maybe apart from the odd oily smell and abit of a mess round the split. I just replaced it because knowing it was like that just bugged me.

Cheers mate, Exactly how i feel, Stanks and it just niggles at me :(

mines just like that too, all i did as a temp measure was to cut a smaller diameter bit of pipe and stick it inside under the split!
didnt seem to change the way it runs though
-
Its got bigger after the trip to westside today :'(
Doesnt affect the running of the car, just smells foonky!

mines the same as well, was going to replace it but i did the same as above slightly smaller diameter pipe inside and refitted it, smells less runs the same..

LOL ya'll are cheap! A new breather pipe is £13.10!
-
£13.10, that's cheap, I expected them to be around £30 or so. I got a spare one from the scrapyard as I know they are common for cracking and splitting, so if it was going to be £30 or so I was planning on offering it to you  Current one I have I removed all the gunk from the inside with warm soapy water and flushed it all off with hot pressured water from the tap. Looks like now and it has no signs cracking any time soon.
