I am collecting my 6 month old MK6 GTI next week and have noticed the car has mad flaps fitted.
Whilst they are not too unsightly i'd rather remove them.
As the car is 200 miles away i cant see how easy this job will be.
Can I assume they are just screwed into the inner wheel arch lining?
If so should i just be able to remove the screws and the drop off?
-
Yep they are just screwed/clipped into place
-
Thanks Steve. If screws can I assume the holes are on the wheel arch liner as i don't want any nasty holes showing when i take them off?

You re-use the screws to hold the arch liner in place

Good luck with this I attempted it and failed miserably.
You'll find some of the screws will need the wheel removed to take them out.

Thanks chaps. Wheels off or not, the mud flaps are coming off!!

Vwkev is after a set of mudflaps,p.m him he might buy them off you.

Are you buying from a dealer? If so get them to take em off and make sure the arches aren't scratched with all the crap that gets underneath the flaps. (ooh err)

..........if it's the same as the mk5 i'm shure there are a couple of screws that are drilled/fit into the lower rear bumper.
