as per topic, how to play with this setting and what are the benefits? Does it improve sound quality or not?
-
depends, if you are running subs then yes, i use mine on the highest setting so my door speakers dont get any bass, making the mids n treble sound clearer.
-
Its as it says, it allows high frequencies to pass and filters out low frequencies.
You'll get a few types, active and passive, the latter merely being a capacitor, the former usually in the form of a equaliser and is more expensive.
It will reduce speaker wear and tear and should increase sound quality - as they won't be forced to play such a broad range of frequencies.
-
Have a play and see what sounds best to you.
My fronts are crossed over at 80Hz on a 6db slope so still get plenty of midbass from them.

Does it improve sound quality you ask? my opinion yes as it stops speakesr trying to play frequencys they simply are incapable of doing. Especially at the SPL often needed in the car enviroment and the small speakers upfront that we use. Have a play with the setting and see what you think.
