Title: Jamex Coilovers?
Post by: CraigDavieBeattie on 22 September 2010, 21:56
Hey guys, right atm i have Jamex springs and to be honest they feel a little bouncy way as i know some springs give u that? anyway.. I am now wanting to get coilovers as i think they will give me better handling and a more safe and secure type of suspension, Jamex are selling a coilover kit on Ebay for £180. Now are these really worth buying or would i be buying crap? I dont want to spend over 300 on suspension, considering i have a 1.4 so im not exactly thrashing it around like a 1.8T would move like.

Cheers for any answers guys.

Craig.

Hmmmm... right well lets hope he see's this post and tells me his honest opinion :P haha. I had thought of changing cars! I was in the showroom looking and talking about getting a mk5 gt sport but after a real big think i thought why so soon? I love my mk4 and its not let me down either! Still with 71000 milleage and full VWSH i shouldnt really be changing so soon. So now ive done a U turn and now im gona really enjoy it! So coilovers next then im gonna get a proper exhaust system to increase sound and that. Wont get much performance side of things but its not all about performance lol hahaha.

i got fk street coilovers in 2 weeks ago since i,ve had full 5 guys in the car going through streets of edinburgh and not once did they rub my 18's way better that my hottunning mk3 set up.

i bought genuine vw front and rear top mounts plus front bearings, you may need up rated drop links  cant remember where i got mine think it was the veedub site but will check.

i replace front wish bone and bushes , drop links top mounts and then fk coils so it rides like it new i mean really smooth.

so far fk ftw at around 170 to 190 depanding where you buy them (ebay for me) they decent and decent brand.

yeah did quick search for you and noticed these and there  never fitted and even chearper to save you same cash.
