Halfords are naff for paint.
Plus red is the worst colour for fading!
You may need to find your paint code, usually on a sticker inside the boot, and buy from stealers!
-
Luckily my car is pretty good fade wise, it looks amazing after a polish! just going to attempt some rust patches and scratches
Cheers Len i had to phone VW for the paint code a few months ago (Its classic red cant remember code) since the last owner removed the sticker!?
-
your code should also be on a sticker in your handbook
-
ALL the paint codes are on here somewhere!

just a note when you do go buy paint make sure you go to a good place not halfords and ask them to check the mix with your car 9 times out of 10 you will find no matter how good your car is for fade it will have sun fade red is the worst for this a few ways to get round it are
1. use a cutting compound to bring the old paint up to color with the new (something like color restore) when you use a cutting compound you must always use a wax or polish after
2. if you go to a good mix shop you can ask them to make the color just a tad lighter
