I need a few things repairing on my Gti 16v, but not to sure on how much I will be looking at.
These are the parts I need fixing ;
Rear brake pads
Rear brakepipes
New CV joint on the front tyre.
What kinda price range am I looking it?
-
Not much to be fair, theyre all simple jobs anyway! You doin it yourself or gettin a garage to sort it?
-
Having to take it to a garage, as got a new born baby, so no time on my hands at all.
Was quoted the other week for just over £300 for all of that. Does it sound about right or too much?
-
Sounds a bit expensive to me mate! Id have said around £100 - 150 for that list. Best to have a bit of a shop around then you'll have a better idea.
-
I think you will be looking at getting on £100 just for parts, unless you use really cheap brands.
Are all the rear brake pipes being replaced?
The price you've been quoted is ok, but you might be able to get it a little cheaper, but don't expect miracles.
Probably still worth shopping around.

Not to sure if all the rear pipes need replacing or not. Got the test on Thursday, which happens to be my birthday too. So will be spending all my money on getting it fixed up!
Worth doing though, as still in great condition , so spending some money on her is all good. Just hope it won't be too much!

Good price that if all inclusive.

Well the garage I took it too, said he would do all of that , for the £300 mark. I might see if I can haggle a bit, maybe ask them if I agree to it all, throw the MOT test in for free. Worth a try.
