Title: the worst MPG in the world!!!!

now that iv got your attention lol i have just bought a golf gti non turbo 1.8 and been driving it around a little and my average MPG on the computer says im doin 12.5 MPG and even worse when i put my foot down not to mention its flatter than a witches tit, my CAT is gone fooked none existant because the bloke who had it before cut it open nd pulled it all out i was hoping that wants iv got it sorted everything would be fine but i just wanted to be enlightend on any other possibilities it could be ie pre or post lambda sensor or MAF sensor

please help im lyin a brick ere

Get a VAG-COM scan and respond to that.

Sounds like the MAF sensor. Get it scanned but make sure you put a genuine one back on.

done that guys there was a few faults cleared em but havnt checked it yet but wil try again one ive replaced the cat

ive got same car   with same probs    b in law gave it a scan  whitch came up with  something like airfilter blocked   so i had a look   all lookked fine and clean  so it can    i think only be  M A F   think yours is same   no point cleaning   just replace   put yours in part x    does any1 agree ??? :smiley:
