Just done my first full detail on my car since i bought it. First i clayed it with megs clay and dodo juice born slippy then tried to polish it with dodo juice lime prime lite which i found very hard to buff off so abandoned that and polished it with AG super resin which was far far easier to remove. Then applied a thin layer of AG HD wax which i thought was great, very easy to apply and remove.
Firstly am i doing something wrong applying the lime prime (didnt use too much and waited around 5 mins until dried to remove)
Also how many coats of wax should i apply, is 1 enough or should i apply another coat?

Hi,
Not sure about the Lime Prime, i'm yet to buy some but i've heard it very good stuff! I'm sure the pro's will be along soon to explain how we should be using it!
In terms of waxing, one coat is fine to start off but i've been building mine up every other wash since i last clayed/polished/sealed it and im now up to 4 coats and still looks great.

Sorry, just thought of something else -
I usually leave my polish/Jetseal/wax for around 30 mins before buffing off and i've found everything i use really easy to remove.
Maybe it needs longer than 5 mins to cure properly?
I'm sure Guy or Dan will soon advise!

I have Never used the AG HD wax, what does it say on the tub ?,i use Dodo juice purple haze pro on the tub for that it says apply the wax leave for 5-10 mins max then buff off,you can repeat after 24hrs if needed.

general rule seems to be 2 coats of wax, more to ensure even coverage than any durability increase.

correct, 2 layers will ensure even coverage and does not increase durability, and to further what musicman said top up after every other wash or every month or so to bling it back up inbetween using qd's

Lime prime lite is a glaze, not a polish. It has no micro-abrasives in it, only oils which give that "wet" look. Also, you're probably applying it incorrectly. I had the same problem as you and was shown by the guys Dodo Juice how to use it. A tiny amount will cover a whole panel. Don't let it haze. Instead keep working it over the entire panel for a few minutes and then buff the panel with a microfibre cloth.
