Nice choice.

Thats why I went for it again as I keep my cars 5 years and still have a mk V GTI thats looks as clean as when I got it. Obviously with a few more stone chips

I nearly went for silver, it was very close and could have gone either way, most my previous cars were silver and my mk1 is silver. I just decided sod it have a change this time. I find it a shame VWs current silver has so many filings in the paint and therefore is not as mirror reflective as there older diamond silver was. Mind a good detail makes a huge difference compared to stock finish. I do miss not having silver sometimes as it does not show up the dirt as much.

It was pointed out to me that having two silver GTIs with red badges, grey wheels and dark lights was maybe a bit sad/samey.
Fair point...
But the Mk6 looks so good in silver.

I got similar coments when i nearly went for silver with monza shadows. (silver cars, silver VW badges, silver wheels with black inserts)

I think the light red coloured LED lights maybe ok on the lighter colours like the silver, but im not sure how they will look on the darker colours. :undecided:

Asker, you have seen the pictures of my garage...so you already knew this!

I will save silver for my Edition 35.
It seems only fair that a silver example of the last of the Mk3 GTIs should sit in my immaculate garage next to a silver example of the Mk6 GTIs!

I have broken my OCD addiction with BBS wheels on the Mk6. Although, I do have some for use as winter wheels.
I just couldn't face the world without some BBS's to roll on!

I'm back up to 6 sets now - natural equilibrium is restored.

Are LED rear lights now standard like the "GTI-R" just not smoked?
Title: Re: GTi is here :)
Post by: Buck on 18 September 2010, 01:01
LEDs are now standard but the smoke ones are on the 'R' only

WHITEY: Ess_Three was also considering this. However, I understand, you have to buy the whole housing, each
costing £350 approx!
