Just had my cambelt changed and when I got my car back the oil temp on the MFA doesnt work anymore. All the other readings are fine. Was wondering where the sensor was located, whether it may have come loose? How easy is it to fix and how do I do it?
-
The sensor is on the cylinder head near where the distributor is. Look for a brass sensor with a "nail" type head, there may be a loose wire floating around looking for a home .

I thought the oil temp was on the oil filter housing? and that the one on the cylinder head is the oil level sensor?
-
Sounds about right to me. cos when my bro did it, its down the bottom of the engine!
And when you replace it, do it up f**king tight, not to tight or you f**k your sensor, cos if you dont you get a slight oil leak and your car smokes

As I found out recently on the 8v its on the oil filter housing, but on the 16v its in the head

ive got the same prob too
what sensor do i change on the housing on my 8v?

On the 8v it is in the oil filter housing, look for a brass sensor with a nail type head near the oil switch.
