Title: why do i have this??

i have seen pics of other 16v's but never seen this switch on any. i think the previous owner who f**ked with the car had it for some unknown reason. my loom does not even have a jack plug for it. i am currently having a poblem with my fan. the temp light flashes in the car and the fan turns on even if i just turn the ignition on. 

could this be related??  :undecided:

nope aint got that on my valver. that coolant manifold on mine just has 1 pipe going to the top of rad and another straight down towards waterpump. there is no third outlet with a sensor on it

I think it allows the fan to run on after you switch the engine off if temps ate still high.
Aint got one on my valver either though.

^^^ no i dont think its for that as my fan will run on after engine is off. i think that afterrun is controlled by the sensor in the rad.

pm rub johnny or danny p im sure one of em will know what it is

Dont think it could be a Bodge cause it looks like original pipework comin off engine,

thats what i think, that is the metal bit attached to the bottim end called?? maybe it is there to block off the other outlet. if i get the part number for what it should be i can get that and forget about it.  my fan however keeps coming on everytime i turn off the ignition. will try a new collant sensor to see if it stops the light in the car flashing.
