Title: Rubbing noise?

Lately, my car has been making a sort of rubbing noise. Me and my mates reckon it's coming from the back passenger side wheel.
It's sort of like when you ran over a can on your bike and it rubbed #9making the bike sound like a motorbike!  :rolleyes: )
It's nothing to do with the engine or anything, as it continues when I drop the clutch, don't rev and slow down etc.

Any ideas?

I had this on my mk3 and it turned out to be the backplate rubbing against the disc! so worth checking.

have you checked the wheel bearings? is your car lowered?

Had the wheel off today, brake back plate isn't rubbing and there's nothing in the arch to rub on.

It is lowered Dan, could it be camber?
Not sure how to test bearings, don't you have to jack it up and move the top and bottom of the wheel back and forward?

That is how to test the beaing, if its nakerd or loose the wheel would wobble.

check the bearing as suggested firstly, i would check the pads and disc too whilst there, also check no stones have got stuck in the brake disc plate. whats the car lowered on? if coilovers and none of the above get you to the bottom of the problem i would wind them up abit to see if that made a difference.
