Title: will a 2.0 8v gti golf gearbox fit 1.8 8v

need to know for my mate if my spare 2.0 ltr gti gearbox will fit on a mk3 golf 1.8 8v non gti model i think ? dont know much about his car i havnt seen it yet he just needs a new gearbox and i have a spare so il sell it to him if it does cheers

ah well it turns out it dosnt i sold mine to my mate in the end and he said it didnt fit when he tried it luckily he sold it on to someone who did need it inless he was being a complete sap it dont anyway lol

pretty sure the 1.8 uses the 020 gearbox which is the same as the gti 8v....

yeah thats what i was told on the us forum and on here somewhere i think! but it must be different maybe not all models but the one my mates got it didnt fit lucky he knew someone who needed it for there 2.0 ltr anyway saved me having it back anyway lol
