Title: MK2 Valver Knocking sound Drivers side only!! HELP

Hi guys, i need some help pleaseee!!

My MK2 valver seems to be making a Knocking sound when driving but only when i move off in first gear or im at slow revs. once the cars into second or third gear and moving at a decent speed it seems to stop until i slow down at traffic lights again! the car is lowered currently at 60mm at the front, could it be my suspension that may have gone or could it be soemthing else? its only on the drivers side the sound is coming from too...

Jack up the car and get a long crow bar start putting some force around the suspension parts see if you can see whats loose or it could be a engine mount gear box or rear? Narrow it down a tad lad!
Does it do it when reving out of gear? explain as much as possible for diagnoses fella.
My money if engine is ok

i will try that and take a look to see if anything is coming accross loose.

for diagnoses, it happens when im moving slowly, ie crawling in traffic, when im slowing down below about 20-25mph, coming to a holt. it could be my whole shock absorber that may have gone which would explain the reason why its on the right hand side only. i just wana make sure before i buy another suspention to fit it and only find out that it wasnt the problem atleast the money cud go towards fixing it!

Its dangerous and I would not do it unless it was on a proper lifter aslong as its off the ground and secure you could rev it in gear to establish whats going on, but don't do it with out some fail safe!!!! If that car falls on the ground whilst in gear reving your SCREWED! But hey its old school and like I said borrow a proper car lift or a rolling road machine  :laugh:
