16" wheels will fit, but the tyres may not, I'm not sure.
What you need to know is the bolt pattern, PCD and the offset!

to give you some idea

185/60/14s come in at around 22.5inches diameter
205/50/15s come in at around 23.2inches diameter

the www.bfgoodrichtires.com website give pdf of the specs of each of their tyres so you can get the measurements there. someone else posted a natty little javascript site that did the measurement for you as well in a recent thread about tyres.

Unfortunately the fitment will be wrong unless the alloys have multiple PCD bolts drilled into them, ford granada PCD is 4 x 108 unless I'm mistaken and VW is 4x100.

i've seen 4x100 somewhere else so i think you are correct.

golf is 100 pcd but again i think granada are 5 stud wheels.
the other consideration is the offset its no god having wheels on a car if you cant turn the steering

basicly if you have a four stud wheel the centres of these studs/holes, will all be on a circle with a diameter of 100mm or 108 mm in these two cases, so the ford ones are 8mm out.
