after some little scrotes decided to take my head unit they ahve left me with a totally ruined dashboard therfore i need to replace THE WHOLE THING, my replacement cane today and now im just curious about the removal/fitting of the new one, just wondering if there are any hidden screws or mounts that i need to be aware of and roughly how long it shoukd take me bearing in mind ive never done it before
cheers guys

Why don't you just replace the piece where the head unit goes? It can be removed separately and just takes a few minutes.
-
a bit of the actual dashboard that seperates the piece your talking about and the heater controls has been snapped out, the piece your talking about has been pulled out so the screw holes havent got any material for the thread to bite into anymore and there are just some general dents from the thiefs screwdrivers and a few cuts in the top of the dash whre they havent been careful, i could replace the smaller bit but it wouldnt sit properly or anything,

Something like this should do the job:

^^ win haha
or i could just undo all the screws i can be bothered to see then tie some rope to it and then my dirt bike to the other end

Would have been nice to know this last year....

Take some pics as you're doing it as reference for the rest of us!
Please and thank you!

had to do mine about 2 months ago as half the wiring loom fried!!
a couple of tips for you
1. if you have an airbag on your steering wheel - disconnect the battery first for a good half hour before removing.
2. label all your wiring from where your unplugging it from.
3. label up all screws and bolts as to where they came from
4. have someone help you lift the new dash into position - this makes it easier to route the wiring loom
5. try not to swear as much as me when trying to get the centre console back in

If i remember correctly there are some screws in the bulkhead holding the dash into place. But i'm not sure, so don't quote me. Other then that have funn

Haha ive deffently not been filled with confidence about this job haha!

The dash is a piece of cake out take out,Germans are geniuses when it comes to engineering.
It comes out with a screw driver and a size 10 socket/spanner,take the tree nuts out from underneath the front windscreen wiper motor tray two near the motor one on the passenger side, close all vents and unscrews the screws there, and start taking pieces off you should start with the airbag light that comes out by lifting it gently with a screw driver, then unclip the light dimmer from the side there you will see the hidden screws then go to the middle and unclip the trim and so o its very simple.

Exelent description, i just cracked on with it and pretty much did everything like you said! The dash is almost out, the only issue i have is the center console, the previous owner had a gear stick lock atatched so theres a big plate coming through the console which doesnt give any room to move it! Looks like im going to have to chop it out from undernieth!

The dashboard is very easy to remove, last time I've done one it took me less than 40 minutes to remove it. the centre console is easier to remove if you pull your handbrake all the way up ( might need slackening abit on the 10mm nuts) and then swing the centre console to the side a bit, mine's easier as the gearstick is shortened
