Title: Demon Shine
Post by: KennyGTI on 31 August 2010, 08:37
Anybody else tried this stuff? Bought the Pour On Demon shine but ended up putting a little in a skoosh bottle and topping the rest up with water and spraying it on the car after I had washed it then chamois off.

I was very suprised with the results, gives the car a nice deep shine and wet look which I have been craving for since I bought it! Although this is just a quick fix shine and maybe only last a week or two I am very pleased! Maybe a good idea to do this inbetween waxing and polishing to keep the shine up.

P.S. If trying this dont put it on your windows

Not got any pics sorry

I use autoglym aquawax for that. Not quite as easy as pouring over the car, but still pretty easy and lasts quite a few washes.

If it's better than Meguiars Ultimate I'll try some - have you used the Meguiars?

Oh dear...is this what the Mk6 forum has become?
All the johnny-come-lately VW owners bashing Mk3s.

I know my Mk3 will still be sat in my garage when my Mk6 has long gone.

Well Steve, my Dodo Juice Red Mist was delivered from Monza Car Care yesterday, was gonna give it a try but guess what, the spray head doesn't work. Emailed Monza and they are going to get a new spray head sent out, but it's a bit disappointing paying £23.94 for 500ml [with delivery cost] then finding it faulty. I hope the product is better than the dispenser

yep alot of guys get this and moan like you wouldnt believe on other forums but its just the solvent that buggers all the seals up in the head. the product itself if used correctly is bloody good.

Could have done that but don't want too heavy a mist, assume it is made to deliver correct amount and at £18.99 for 500mls I don't want to use too much

They should be using solvent proof heads, readily available.

yes but at a cost which would reflect in the price of the finished product which would cost the customer more, the guys at dodojuice have been working on this problem and have upgraded the heads on them so should be fine.

going back to the the cheap product that this topic is about

i cant see how just pouring a product over your car will garenty, not only a natural gleaming shine, but also to protect and seal in the goodness of the paint

its like all this product is, is make up, covering up uglyness (sorry ladies, no offence)

were as proper products like megs, kleers, dodo, voodoo, etc, are genuine cleaning products

the reason they market and sell this stuff is because mugs that are lazy and thick will buy it by the bucket load and believe what it says on the lable.

ive bought some a while back to test as a drying aid to eliminate streaking, i dilute about 70/100ml of product in a 500ml pump sprayer with water and spritz it on the car straight after washing and dry with my yellow monza towels. works a treat,
i havent tested what it says to do on the label as its a load of tosh, but as a drying aid though its extremely cheap and does the job very well tbh
Title: Re: Demon Shine
Post by: Tazzy on 15 September 2010, 21:55
drying aids ive yet to try, prefer the old(ish) way of using a man made artificial chamais and spending ages drying it properly lol
Title: Re: Demon Shine
Post by: robz on 16 September 2010, 09:15
thats a good idea purple!
the one problem i have with the colour of my car, i get lots of streaking and it looks rubbish!
so i end up chamying, as i didnt have much look with drying towels!!
Title: Re: Demon Shine
Post by: Dan J on 16 September 2010, 11:54
it works really well, drying towels are much kinder to the cars than chammys and chammys will contribute to streaking and in some cases lite scratches.

try the demon shine as a drying aid you be very pleased with the result, make sure you dilute it as i have directed above and your onto a winner.

think its on offer at Asda atm.

a glaze (black hole etc etc) will only give you very minute correction and will fill more than it corrects, if your cars is heavy in swirls then a finishing polish or a medium polish will sort this easier.

Post by: robz on 16 September 2010, 20:56
Well I normally use super resin polish but doesn't seen to make much difference :(
tanks for the heads up on the asda offer lol
the colour comes up nice, just the swirls wreck the overall finish!
