Hi guys...
I need new tyres on the golf and I want a decent set! Im looking between ?50-?60 per tyre,
so far Toyo proxes (T1R I think, theyre new one) are ?54 each which seems pretty reasonable. I also think they look great!
I did try the yokohamas at inters a couple of years back and my god they made a difference.
So does anyone have any preference/reccomendations/experience etc?
cheers in advane

I run yokie A539's and like them. that's with 205/40/17's. the grip well and perform good in the dry and the wet. I didn't like proxies one bit. I still have them on the back and it feels loose most of the time. When I had yokes all round it was great.

BF Goodrich wet tyres are some of the best. They stick like anything in the dry and wet.
Thats why I'm going as far as importing some from the States that arent available here.
-
goodyear eagle f'1s are supposedly the best in the wet :undecided:
-
Are any of these a reasonable hard compound - fed up with tyres lasting 6 months !!!

Thanks... Im not too fussed about wet weather performance as I usually take it easy in the wet! ?
What Im aiming for is the same feel the yoko's gave me at inters...it really was like driving a completeley different car...so much smoother and the grip was just something else...
sounds like Ive persuaded myself away from proxes!

the bf's that will be on there way to me on friday(yay!) should have a life time of around 30-40k.
as for wet weather tyres - they are simply awesome in the wet. even the greasy surfaces feel different. i'm not saying you should ever push in the wet or damp, but good wet weather tyres really are a different ball game.
