Yes because it's auto and also big power is cheap out of a 1.8T, I looked at a manual and turbo conversion but huge $$ for the same outcome it's pushing 220bhp now for cheap money how much to get that out of a vr6!!!

1.8T mk3 AND a charged VR6 Jetta? You're living the dream mate  How is car ownership in New Zealand? Since both your cars are VRs I'm guessing tax and insurance rates are pretty good? You'd struggle to pay for one VR6 in Ireland

Post by: ballin on 31 August 2010, 21:15
Insurance is not compulsory over here so both cars are insured for less than 500 a year!!

Living the dream is pushing it a bit but yeah perry cool running cars over here is cheap as chips

Tax is virtually nothing as well and petrol is dirt cheap!

Sweet, nice boost setup. I just fitted a boost gauge, so will find out what boost I'm running for sure soon. I think higher boost setting is 1.1bar, but not 100%.

Did you have any trouble getting the front bumper back on? I see you cut some fins out.

Not a fan of the headlights and fogs, but the rest of car looks sweet. You stripping out the engine and tidying it up too?

1.1bar is around 16 psi, yep now it's all together time got it to get stripped and painted ! Yes hard work with the gmc but nothing some resin and moulding can't fix!

Just picked up a new project this weekend too.... Mk3 vento vr6..an manual conversion and then I'm going to slam it on 18" bbs ch's and paint them either luminous pink or green
