Title: Volkswagen Racing air filter
Post by: FroGTI on 26 August 2010, 11:12
Anyone fitted one of these? Are VWR affiliated to Volkswagen in any way, as their website looks 'semi official'? I like the look of their air filter, because it's a direct replacement (i.e. invisible) for the stock paper filter.

Expensive though at £75 + VAT for a slab of foam

Some VW dealer (Vindis group and Durham/sunderland) can order their parts for you! One way to avoid dispute for any future warranty claim. I also think that's the best way to get their parts.

I tried to deal with them direct to save a few pennies. Their customer service is non-existent---too busy racing!

They are indeed busy...and I agree their attention to prospective customers could be better...but the products are good and the lads knowledge invaluable.

It's an over priced pipercross filter with VWR sprayed on it, IMHO just buy a proper filter like the ITG Pro Filter

However as you have Revo be aware this will cause your car to surge/hesitate between 1500rpm and 3000rpm due to the boost control issues they are still working on.

Well, I won't be messing with the air filter then... :embarassed: Thanks for the heads-up, Steve
