Title: Mark 3 gti 8v
Post by: Webb770 on 25 August 2010, 23:25
First post so be kind!
I've just treated myself to a Mark 3 golf gti (8v) can anyone tell me if a lambder sensor (sorry about spelling) from a 16v gti will fit into my 8v engine? Any help is much appreciated.

only if the lambda is from the same era as yours. up to around 96 the plug was rectangular, after 96 the plug is bigger and has a rounded edge on 1 side.  dont bother with 2nd hand ones, can get brand new Bosch universal lambdas for around £50

this is the one you want:
Universal 4 wire - 0 258 986 503 (LS03) - 18 watt heater and grounded case

Cheers for that, mines a P reg and I was gunna have the lambda sensor out of my mates 16v engine that he has just bought for his caddy. Sounds like it's gunna be better to leave it after all. Cheers
