Title: Had my car lowered this weekend
Post by: gibby on 17 January 2005, 14:12
Just thought I'd let anyone who was interested know that I had my car lowered at the weekend, bought a streetline kit from ECP which consists of a set of Ventura springs (middle budget) and a set of Bilstein shocks (supposed to be pretty good). The cars been dropped a little and does look mile better, the ride is a bit stiffer on the few corners that I've give it some round so there's less roll and the ride is still comfortable, probably better than my old ones to be honest.

The set only cost me ?135 from ECP so for the money I can't really complain and would so far recommend them to anyone wanting a budget suspension upgrade. I've taken some pictures before they got done and I'll take some after photos and post them up when I get round to it......errr what year is it now ?

The only thing I'm going to do to mine now is get the wheels refurbed and polished up and then fit a new exhaust when the old one breaks, other than that it's staying standard now, (don't start jv or AdamB  ).

I'll see what I can do eyelet, does look better though I must admit. Don't forget that unless you do them yourself then you've got garage labour on top of the price.

Hit a couple of speed bumps on Saturday and it wasn't pleasant, found I had to go really slow over them, I guess that's the price you pay  How do these people manage going down 60 - 70mm  :undecided:

Nice to see the mods are coming along slowly. A set of crystal lights, some A Pillar deflectors, debadge the rear, etc etc......then you can just buy another one and start agian!!

As for coping with a low car - it's a real problem!! I had to have my centre silencer removed because it was so low! Every journey takes meticulous planning. I have actually made my front splitter into a quick release now, just in case there is any thing in the way! And carrying rear seat passengers is totally out of the question!

That's it Ads honest, I'm going to refurb and polish the wheels at some point and then maybe go for a Powerflow exhaust when the old one goes but then that's it.............but I do think that the orange indicators on the back look pretty naff, hhmmmmmmm ?
