Title: Lost Service Record
Post by: musicman87 on 24 August 2010, 13:28
Hi All, I need some advice.

I bought my GTI a couple of months back from an independent stealer, and i negotiated the cambelt & waterpump to be done and a full service at the same time as part of the deal. (Car was at 58,500 miles)

I picked the car up, and i am in doubt that the work was done (oil looked fresh as a daisy) but when i got home the book hadn't been stamped. He said he'd sort it, so i sent the book back in the post, and 2 months later, here i am with no service book... Everytime i ring he says 'give me a few minutes and i'll ring you straight back' and he never does.

1. Can i get hold of the service record from VW (Car had full VW service history from Gilbert Lawton in Manchester)
2. How much will i be stung for?

I appreciate your help in advance...

A small charge for the service record i would think but the stinger is the service/hand book.Stupied money for what they are even on ebay.
