Title: rear brakes mk2 golf
Post by: leeroy20vt on 23 August 2010, 18:22
as u know im in the middle of building a mk2 track car with mk3 running gear

we have put mk3 disks on back and a willwood bias valve but took it for a quick drive up road today to test brakes after they were bled and the rear is locking even with the bias valve wound right off

what can i do to further reduce fluid to rears i have some reducers out of a mk1 cab is this a possabillity if so where in the system should i put them ?

cheers lee

i know someone with a nova track car who runs two bias valves to reduce the flow enough

there is also a way of modding an old mini brake bias valve and this will have a range of 0-100% flow. The downside is the valves are hard to find!

also what pads are you running front and rear?

Sounds like a reasonable solution.

You could try calling a motorsports provider to see what they suggest.  It may be some bias valves wind off more than others.

re the mini valve being hard to find, i have just been ponted in the direction of mini spares

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=36159&title=

the basic valve

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=38406&title=

one with screw already fitted for manual adjustment (replaces a spring that it uses as std to change the bias as susp travels)

the brake line will go in the bottom, out the side and block up the redundant side hole with a bleed nipple or something

not cheap new though
