hi people i signed up 2 days ago cos i am looking at getting my first golf gt tdi on autotrader problem am having is on the price they seem to alter quite a diffrence i have seen a golf for £4500 on a 02 plate black 5 doors with 90 tho on the clock is that about right and should i look out for the ones with over 100,000 miles as i this will be my first vw and dont know what there like if they go for miles and miles i dont mind buy 1 with over 100 tho on the clock any help Thanks Ray

Iv also noticed that there is a wide variation in price between cars with one in particular which had 10k less miles and was £1000 cheaper than the next one for the same car and age. I wander why this is...

haha i know ya and cars in liverpool seem to go alot higher price then anywere els witch also gets on my tits cos i have to travell all the time

Wouldnt let the milage put you off a Golf thats done over 100k as long as it as good/full service history .. price wise it differs as to which/what interior it as if you go to see a car with standard interior your gonna expect to pay a standard price as if you view one with full leather inc heated seats and so on its gonna differ in price accordingly ...
As for things to look out for the advice i got was check to see if the
MAF(mass air flow) as been relaced easiest way to check is when on idle the rev counter will increase and decrease not hughly but a little.. this cost around £130 to replace from VW part only but they do offer a exchange where you give them your old one back and they give you £40 i think back..
Check to see if the clutch and flywheel as been replaced and when (you donr want that failing on ya)
As the cambelt been changed and when vw say 60k or 4yrs but personally 40k intervalls ...
Thats about it really apart from if you know anyone with a VAG system as them to go along and hook it up see if there are any issues with codes plus if your buying from autotrader the chances are it will be a dealer (funny as watchin there arse twich when you hook a comp upto there cars lol)
