Welcome racers!

Below is the calendar, regs and enties for the first Golfgti.co.uk Forza3 Golf GTI Championship.

The regs have been setup to encourage clean racing so damage is set to simulated. This should discourage people punting others off but allow a certain amount of BTCC style rubbing. If in the course of a race you feel you were unduly hampered by another driver you can submit a complaint to the clerk of the course (me!) and I'll review the replay and telemetry and make a judgement. If I decide that a driver was clearly at fault, points will be deducted. If I was one of the drivers in question the review process will be handed over to Horney.

How about I just edit the other thread to include the two leagues and that you're running the 2nd one?

I'll have to keep asking you to update the thread with certain info which I can see being a pain. Also it'll get annoying having two sets of 8 people discussing their races in one thread. We can merge them when we are down to the final 8?

Another point, how will you share the video with Horn-E for judging? Storefront?

Just curious, as I don't think storefront vids show telemetry.

Fair point. Well I'd assume it'll be fairly obvious if someone was deliberately nudging someone out of the way, besides, I wouldn't be one to do that anyway.

Btw, if anyone wants to add me as a friend now you can do so, there are a few spaces open on my list, I'll be deleting more friends later I assume.

Just pick someone else from your series to be the judge if you upset someone. You'll just have to make sure they save every replay in case they're needed (Need to mention this to you slick!).

Will there be a league 1 and league 2 playoff to decide the ultimate champion?

Say top 2 from each league compete in a 1 race ten lap decider.

Yup, although I think it'll be top 4 from each to get a full grid.

I did think top 4, but I recon that there will be more than 2 leagues once this kicks off, so top 2 from 4 leagues.

Put my name down, why not two organisers and instead of a kknock out just make the groups equally difficult and base it on a points system, can't see the points being the same in each group if the difficulty is the same. That way we will get one winner on the points system rather than complicating things?

True.  But it doesn't taken into account the differing driver skills in each league. A "best of the best" playoff will settle any arguments about "who was in the toughest league" at the end of the season.

Fair point, why not stick to what I said and then do the best of the best (4 top contenders) in each group and put them together for a second season league to spice things up and for the real deal champion? And then do the same for the bottom for to see who's the worst of the worst?

Just an idea, otherwise i say a big ass cage match is a quicker way of solving things

Thats a good idea beacuse after the first season has run, you then have a top 16.  In the second season the top 8 would be in league 1 and the bottom 8 in league 2.

From Season 2 onwards, you can then have promotion and relegation.  This way the " I'm better than you" arguments will be settled by natural selection.

Top and bottom 3 drivers would be promoted and relegated.

Sounds good enough for me at least then things will slowly balance out and people's learning curve and skill will be taken into account from season to season.

Also can we do a pub meets and get trophies for two groups:
Best of the best
Worst of the best
Best of the worst
Worst of the worst

That would be uber  :nerd:

Right, I'm sorted.  Just finished my last ebay transaction of the day.

Wireless adaptor -  £28
12 Months Live Gold - £28

Now I'm going to the shop to buy some Stella and then get some practice in.

A quick question for Horney, et al.

How do I adorn my Mk2 with all those wonderful decals you have.  It is an online only thing?  All I can seem to do is change the colour.

Thanks

Jonathan.

The Golfgti.co.uk logo can be got from Shady's storefront (so yeah that bit is online).

Right... I'm not a numpty, just middle aged.  I do have A-level computing, but not been on line on the xbox before.

Please explain about store fronts. Thanks.

That A-Level is no good here pal. Jog on.

A storefront is a user's store where they can sell cars, tuning set ups, share videos, photos and the like. My storefront for example has a very good replication of the forum logo which I believe is free for download.

When you're on Live and in the game, go to the option of storefront and you should be able to look around various members storefronts, including your friends. :afro:
