Title: rotor arm adjustment

ok so im trying to tackle the 5000 rpm limiter, the cars set at tdc and when i took the dizzy cap off the rotor arm was 10 mil anti clockwise of the mark on the distributor, how do i go about manually moving the rotor arm clockwise so it lines up with the markings? iv been able to rotate the dizzy cap to where the rotor arm is now so that lead 1 is in line which i was hoping would solve it but its still limiting.  anyone got any tips or ideas what i should do now. im off to get an ecu relay to see if this solves anything.  thanks in advance for any replies  :wink:

great links cheers bud, so i gather i need to remove the belt to do this? will this be fairly easy to do so long as everything stays at tdc? does rotating the intermediate shaft sprocket turn the rotor arm? sorry if i sound dumn just double checking things dont want to mess all my timing up

you can just about manage if you loosen the lower belt cover and tensioner, but its fiddly. yeah turning the int shaft sprocket will move the rotor arm :)
might be a good excuse to replace the timing belt if there is no history to show when it was last done?  some later 8vs you can rotate the dizzy, some have locking pins so you cant.
