hi,
i need a new n/s/f hub for my golf as the clever people at the garage cross threaded all the bolts in the hub.
They told me it wasnt them and it was my fault, so after a lot af arguing i told them what i thought and was going to give trading standard an email.
So to the point, will the hubs off a 16v gti fit on to my driver or will i need to change the ball joint aswell?
Cheers for the help

From memory they should all be the same.

Assume this is MK2 Golf we're talking? If so 88 onwards 16v has 256mm brakes, bearing carrier assembly will fit but you'll also need to fit the discs, pads, calipers & carriers, plus do both sides obviously
pre-88 16v has same bearing carrier assembly as your car so direct swap. ball joints on all MK2s changed size in 87, but best to double check what you have as you never know some pleb may have fitted the wrong bits to your car in the past. you could just press out the hub and press in another with a new wheel bearing.
many MK3 4 stud cars have the same hubs as yours as well, check the size of the brakes. if 239 direct swap, 256+ need to fit the discs, pads, calipers n carriers as well.

Sorry, yeah it's a mk2 driver.
I've got the hubs calipers carriers discs and pads so basically the fully front end braking.
I'll try them on when they turn up and if they fit and i have the time (work never seems to end as of late) I'll try and throw together a how to
cheers for the info
