One very tidy car and you've not even cleaned it yet

PAS is for wimps, but then I've gotta say that as I've not got it

Very nice, even the engine looks clean
Looks like the cold and warm air feed pipes are missing from the airbox though?  You'll have problems in cold weather if the warm air feed is missing!  Which could be why it was so cheap

Not noticed that one myself, but if free says they are there then I will take his word for it till i get chance to inspect later.

No problems with running in the cold yet tho.  So free may well be right!

Ok, basically on the end of the air feed to the carb there should be a cool feed to the wing which isn't too important tbh.  There is also a second hose which clips into the bottom part below where the round lump with the vac pipe going to it, this feeds to a metal shroud bolted to the exhaust manifold.

It is needed along with metal shroud, mine sheared off a few months back. I thought I could get away with just tucking the pipe next to the manifold but I got problems with carb icing. The car would often stall at lights, even with the cold air feed removed.  I clamped the shroud back on with 2 jubilee clips at the weekend and its been fine ever since!

Carb icing can be strange. I've had a few carb vw's in my time, and the warm air hose always breaks.
I never did anything about it and never had any problems, i must of just been lucky!

Free if it still does it theres summat up with it elsewhere!

Audiquattro: Agreed, I think it depends on the car wheather it happens or not, you got a 1.8 or a 1.6?  Mines a 1.6
