im looking for a euro style front bumper and gl door pannels for a mk 3 gti 5 door, does anyone have any for ale or know where i can buy them from, looked of classifieds and cant find any, help
-
smoothed bumpers on ebay.
doors are the same for every mk3 made. what you're after are the cl plastic door trims. these can be colour coded or black plastic.
-
Guy on ED38 selling smoothed front and rear bumpers, Was going to purchase them myself but insurance has taken a liking to my wallet!
-

let me know if your interested.
-
Madmotors.co.uk do a CSR :smiley:mk3 original look smoothed front bumper with Vr6 spoiler smoothed in to it, for £200 + £25 post.
-
Wouldn't buy a front bumper with the splitter smoothed in! Your just asking for trouble there and I would give it a week (providing the car is slammed of course).
Try getting a quote from a bodyshop for it. Price including spraying and smoothing.
-
how smoothed do you want them? like just the rubstrip at the top smoothed and coded or like full on indicators and swage line smoothed?
do it yourself, im smoothing mine as we speak and i have no experience with filler or plastic welding or very much spraying, just look up tutorials on plastic welding (theres a VERY good one on clubpolo by someone who smoothed his 6n 16v bumper but its all the same, just take the ideas and principals off that onto yours)
-
Links could be useful then!
-
try finding a US spec bumper, have the front place recess smoothed but keep the swage line and indicators, also have the us side markers
same as;

To get it perfect get a bodyshop to do it. Once its sprayed, you will see how "flat" you have done it. Unless your really an@l about it and spend a couple weeks on it, then no doubt it be as good, if not better than bodyshop.

yes i am that anal and i will spend weeks on it its been about a week already and all ive done is blank off 1 indicator hole and given it a first layer of filler and chucked some filler in the square bit in number plate recess
but if your not as patient (or stupid) as me get some quotes from a few bodyshops or buy a us spec bumper as its pretty much smooth anyway

Needs to be glassfiber really, filler will fall out given time.

You need to be a member to view the classifieds on ED38,
Join up and i'll send you the link, Stunning set of bumpers although they are in Porsche brown :undecided:
And in Response to having a smoothed in splitter... LOL
I'm with LL on if slammed your WHOLE bumper will be mashed instead of a bit of attachable plastic!
Removable splitters ftw!
