Post by: patter78 on 18 August 2010, 21:05
Hi guys

is 2500rpm to much? i have one here that spins at 2500rpm but when you put pressure on it kinda stops so a weak motor
just wondering if it would work as a polisher?

Most polishers have an adjustable speed approx 1000-3000rpm.

I'm guessing yours is adjustable? If not then probably no good i'm afraid.

if too much pressure is applyed you can damage the paint. and as chris said if its not speed adjustable then its definatly no good im afraid.

no, there is a nack to using one effectively and safely, training is highly recomended, you'll have little to no errors if you have your whitts about you and use your common sense, theres also learning the different paint and clearcote types, what pads to use and when to use them and what polish to use with a particular pad.
