Title: wheel question
Post by: mcgee9t2 on 18 August 2010, 11:17
Ok. I've been told multiple answers to this question so can someone settle it.

Can I fit vw wheels to my car and it doesent affect my insurence?

Also what about audi? My cusns mate has a set of audi alloys with tyers going for £100!  The ttyers are brandnew and worth over that alone!

You need to tell your insurance whatever happens, Audi wheels will not fit a mk4

If the wheels were an option on your specific vehicle the likelihood is that the insurer should not increase the price as it would be optional equipment from the factory and therefore "standard". However as Wayne says you need to tell your insurer about ANY changes to your car.

If they were avaliable as an optional extra from new then your fine and it shouldn't affect your insurance.

However if they weren't originally avaliable on that model car then you do have to declare them. Again with us it shouldn't affect you anyway but if you didn't declare them you would invalidate your cover, even if they were only VW ones from another model.

hope that makes sense
