hi all.
need to change the fuel filter in an 8v gti. is it as straight forward as it seems? any hints or things to look out for? appreciate any feedback.
have found the answer i needed in the search option. didnt know if i had to de-pressurise as per the Haynes book. sounded like a bit of toolling around

Best to de-pressurize otherwise you'll get covered in excess petrol.
You'll never get the original pipe clips back on so get yourself some new screw up type pipe clips beforehand.

thanks for the tip. did the deed today. all was good. didnt have to worry about getting soaked in petrol. half way through the job it started pi55ing pickhandles and i got drenched!
anyway, job done now, thanks to this forum and your tips. next job is the rear brake caliper and then clean the throttle body.
