I got a really good Golf book for Christmas and thought I'd let people know, it has loads of information in it from the history of the Golf being made and various other history. It's not new and only goes up to mk3 but it also has bits about the corrado and the scirroco, there are even pics in there of a cabrio corrado and also a mk2 cabrio which was designed by kamei, these never came into production but some firms were asked by VW to come up with some prototypes. Anyway, I think it's a great book and might interest some. Here's the book on amazon if anyone is interested. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1852239964/qid=1105634512/sr=1-16/ref=sr_1_0_16/202-3871085-4231830

They have used copies on amazon from ?10 up to ?20 for a new copy. Am tempted looks like a handy book to have on the shelf.
I've got the golf gti book from haynes (not the repair manual), that is really handy. Goes through models 1-4 in detail showing their strengths and weak points. It certainly helped me learn what to look for when buying a mk2.
