Hi Guys,
Well after a few weeks of constant searching, and sleepless nights I am now the proud new owner of my 2007 (57) MkV R32 DSG!
Very interesting story with the car, but won't bore you all, needless to say though I am really pleased. Couple of little things that I will stick a post up about but overall absolutely love it. I bought it on spec, over the phone without even test driving and made a long trip up to Darlington on Saturday to go get it. And was made up....
Also, unbeknown to me, it would appear that the car has been fitted with a after market exhaust which I think is Milltek (or at least I think it is) which has a real burble. Not sure whether I will keep this, and may offer it up for swop or sale. So stand by....
Its also got Carbon Badges (again, didn't know) and think there are very nice. Admittedly, I probably wouldn't fit them myself but as they are on there may aswell enjoy them :-)
Its got the Full leather Recaro sports seats which are really nice and feel like you hold you in well. And look impressive in the car.
Anyway....for your viewing pleasure, I can now present my .:R32

How is it to drive vs the GTI? I'm hopefully picking up a '58 r32 on Wednesday but like you its agreed over the phone so subject to inspection...

Looking very smart. Love the little touch of blue on the .:R badge.

Post a close up piv of the exhaust, if its Milltek it will have it written on it. Like this:

Very nice the R32 best coulor silver is rare for an r32!! Whats the milage on it?

Looks nice, I would keep the exhaust if it is a Milltek

Looks smart, liking the blue brake calipers really look good with the silver.

Thanks Guys...
Just ran into Car park and looked :-( Definately not a Milltek as no markings on it. OH NO!!!! What other makes are there??? Or could just be a back box??! I have to admit it does sounds lovely but does have this funny sound when accelerating. I can only really describe it as a raspy rattle?!?! Chavtastic :-)
Its a 57 plate, with 26k on the clock. And it is mint....I have been very lucky. 2 previous owners, and according to log book it was owned by VW for 2 years. So I can only guess it was a managers car or something. It was from the Darlington area, so if anyone knows anyone who has got rid of Silver R32 then let me know. As I would like to find out whether any "other" mods have been done. The owner part ex'd it for a Megane RS...
Couple of things I would love that it hasn't got, so may get them retro fitted, which is RNS510 and a centre armrest. Have a mate who is a master technician for VW, so hopefully can source some cost parts.
Last thing, is the garage who part ex'd or the owner decided to put a new front tyre on it. Which now means I have 1 odd wheel and 3 others on same tyre. Would it be worth me getting the other three done now to the same brand as the new one? Its a Avon ZZ3. Any thoughts guys and gals???
Thanks as always,
Andy

That is a beaut mate.....The Daddy of all Golf's imho....
Best colour too....

Some of the earlier millteks didnt have the Emblem that AlanD has posted.
If you look on the back silencer, normally behind out of direct eye shot, there will be a small Plate with Milltek stamped, with its serial number included.
You will need to crawl underneath to see it.
Does look like a Milly.

I would change the odd wheel , which ever is cheeper??
-
Dont they have that raspy sound as standard??? i always thought they did as every one iv heard makes that noise....
-

They do sounds orgasmic as standard.
They sound cumtastic with a Milly :D

Oh yeah, it does sound fantastic!!! I lurve it
However, my old 3.2 TT didn't have this raspy rattle, so I can only assume this comes from the aftermarket exhaust (haven't got on my hands and knees yet to check for a hidden Milltek sticker). Its not unpleasant, its just...erm...different!
As for the wheels....not sure what to do? Was under the impression, as its 4 wheel drive, and I was advised to with my TT, to change all four wheels at the same time? Is this not correct? And if I now have 3 worn Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres and a brand new Avon ZZ3 will this not adversely affect the handling?!?!
Oh, found out tonight when looking around the car that its also got the upgraded stereo. Found the amp under the passenger seat!

I dont know this for fact my boss used to have one of these and I've driven it and it sounded pathetic compared to the R32 even with the same engine. I think even as standard they made the .:R sound a bit more raspy.

The R32 is FWD biased most of the time so two good front tyres would be a good idea. It starts shifting more power to the back the more it's needed, so if you are going on track day or something similar it would be a good idea to have both front and back in good condition.
