Title: PSI Tuning Custom Code remap
Post by: Alfamack on 16 August 2010, 08:46
I've got a 2001 1.8T with 78k miles and it developed a problem last week, started missing under load and that developed into a serious misfire. Checked on here and thought it was probably a coil pack.
Found PSI Tuning in Newcastle under Lyme and got them to check it out and thankfully fix it.
While I was there I looking at the literature on Custom Code remaps, I asked the owner to have a look at my car and let me know if it could take it. He came back and said the tech said no problem would suit it down to the ground.
So I bit the bullet and had it done.

Why did I worry about getting it done, it has changed the motor from an ok car to an insane beast, it just pulls from low down the rev range and keeps on going.
I've had quick cars in the past, but this is the first time I've had a turbo'd one and a remap.
Trouble is I might get the bug now and the bank balance can't take it.
